US Land Portfolio
Countrywide
Investment
As the subprime crisis was at it’s peak in 2011, the remnants of the prior year’s boom period were left scattered around the US. The significant overbuilding that resulted from easy flowing credit to developers, had created an abundance of excess stock that the market saw little value for. Using historical demand trends as the underlying guide, significant investments were made in land assets across the country, including completed and partially completed subdvisions, and future development land. These assets were acquired significantly below replacement cost, and have outperformed the market significantly since acquisition.
